Chester Road, Swarthmore, Pennsylvania
For today's post in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, I admired the realtor's descriptive prose as much as I admired the beautiful house. Hard to improve on her presentation, so I'll let her words lead you through our tour.
"This elegant circa 1912 Shingle Style Victorian offers the perfect marriage of old and new, all set on a stunning double lot with a 4-car garage in winsome Swarthmore Borough!
Inside, a front to back center hall introduces the beautifully refinished pine floors and soft neutral colors found throughout much of the home."

You'll see why I was drawn to this tan & white striped rug for this space in a moment.
This design would keep the airy feel, and it has the 4 chairs in a circle arrangement design bloggers admire so much. When it works, it just works, doesn't it?
"The view from the family room addition is stunning, with two walls of windows overlooking the grounds, the slate patio, and the covered back porch. Curl up and watch the seasons change as the lush greens of summer give way to the bright colors of fall."
{Eric Roseff}
See, here are our stripes I referenced in the entry, and this is the other view of our living room inspiration photo above. We could move the couch to better curl up and take in those views.
{Hurlbutt Designs}
This light design continues the airiness in this room, with references to the color scheme introduced by Eric Roseff's design.
"The eat-in kitchen has been renovated with a ceramic tile floor, custom cherry cabinets reaching nearly to the ceiling, recessed lighting, stainless steel appliances, a gorgeously restored antique Chambers professional range with griddle and a professional Kobe range hood."
No inspiration photo here, and I think our realtor covered why it doesn't need one!
"The breakfast area of the kitchen is big enough for a dining table!"
Yes, it's big enough for a dining table, but it needs a little airiness in here, too.
I think a handsome yet feminine design suits this space nicely.
"Three additional good-sized bedrooms with beautiful views over the property can be found on this floor... "
{Better Homes and Gardens}
"...as well as a full tile hall bath and a sumptuously renovated master bath with hall entrance, featuring classic black and white tile, a steam shower, and plumbing roughed in to add a bath to the floor above, if desired."
{House & Garden}
Just want to add a little inspiration sophistication to this bathroom, since it's the master.
"The third floor includes three bedrooms, a large storage room with handy shelving, and closet big enough to become a bath or laundry area, if desired." (Have you been counting? That makes 7 bedrooms!)
Oh, a bedroom with a sink. That definitely brings the charm of 1912 to this space, doesn't it?
There we have it. This pretty house makes it easy to see how a caring realtor could describe it so well.
