Case in point is this bedroom. It's soothing and pretty, but it doesn't feel finished:

Hanging something round like those plates is an effective way to break up the rectangular windows and square section of wall. Keeps your eye moving a little. Besides, it's much more fun to clean your house when you putter and try new arrangements with your tchotchkes while you're at it, isn't it?
