House Updates 4 -- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Today let's re-visit two houses that we first looked at in 2014. I called them my City Mouse and Country Mouse houses. In reality they are both in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and about 30 minutes apart from each other.
First up, City Mouse:
City Mouse is a townhouse on 3rd Street, downtown. It has 2,723 square feet, 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and was built in 2008.
Here's what the foyer looked like in 2014:
Inspired by the black doors, I matched it with a sophisticated black and white color scheme:
I got a little closer with my idea for the living room. It was a blank slate in 2014:
I chose another black and white scheme as inspiration:

Yes! I knew black and white would look good in there:
Here is the dining room in 2014:
Inspired by the black pendant light, I suggested a dining/office combination:

The new homeowners rightly made it more about play than work:
This last photo made me laugh. I wanted to spruce up the simple bathroom with a tiled feature wall...

...but the new homeowners decided to leave well enough alone:
They put the feature wall in one of the bedrooms instead...
...and turned one of the other bedrooms into a pretty swell City Mouse closet:
City Mouse isn't on the market currently, but you can find it here. My original post about it is here.
Country Mouse is for sale again. It's a little bigger than City Mouse at 4,905 square feet. It was built in 2013 and has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
Country mouse seemed Belgian/French Country to me:
Our Country Mouse homeowners decided to go Spanish Country, to good effect:
Here is the dining room from 2014:
Again, I was stuck on the Country theme:
The new homeowners were feeling a little more City-inspired:
Lastly, for one of the bedrooms I pictured this elaborate French Country design...
...but true to form, our new Country Mice decided to keep things a little simpler:
Seems they had a pretty similar idea to our City Mice and went big in the closet instead:
It seems our City Mouse and Country Mouse have more in common than they might have thought.
The moral of the story: It doesn't matter where you live as long as you have good closet space.
