If It Were Mini: Dispensary and Siegfried's Office

I'm creating posts for the All Creatures Great and Small dollhouse so that I'll have a logical place to look for the photos when I wonder where I saved them. It might not help, but I'm at the point where I need both the belt and suspenders for this stuff.

This is the dispensary, where the veterinarians test samples and store medicine. I keep mistakenly calling it an apothecary, so I decided to embrace that aspect of it, too.

I added baskets, plants, and herbs drying from the rafters. This view of the sink wall...

was inspired by this view on the show:

I made the sink from a candy container (a bit of a theme with me) and spent more time than I planned labeling bottles and rolling up tiny towels in brown paper sleeves.

If I didn't have the parameters of the show to rein me in, I would have gone full-on Practical Magic movie messy, like this:

or even this:

Speaking of messy, that brings us to Siegfried's office. It's cluttered, because that makes for an interesting set design. It's also true to his book character. Siegfried is very meticulous and persnickety, but he's also messy. Here's his office on the show:

Here's my version:

The divider wall is there to add dimension and depth of field to the room, but it's also part of the show's set design:

The interior window overlooks the hallway to the kitchen on the show.

Mine overlooks Siegfried's office, which makes sense logistically, anyway:

I moved Tricki Woo the pampered Pekingese in here. I made his chaise lounge. I also made the basket cage out of florist's wire for Siegfried's pet rat, Volonel.

These two screen shots show how often they change the pictures and accessories on the show:

I just tried to get a similar mood with my accessories. The wedding picture and the painting over the desk represent Siegfried's late wife Evelyn. The paper in the typewriter is the first page of the book All Creatures Great and Small.

I'll link the YouTube video here after it's live. It'll be easier to create it now that my pictures are organized!
